But if I hear a tune with understanding, doesn't something special go on in me—which does not go on if I hear it without understanding? And what?—No answer comes; or anything that occurs to me is insipid. I may indeed say: "Now I've understood it," and perhaps talk about it, play it, compare it with others, etc. Signs of understanding may accompany hearing.
